A Baton Rouge area high school was put on probation, forced to forfeit six games from last season and will have to pay a fine because of an ineligible player.
The Louisiana High School Athletic Association ruled Capitol High School will forfeit six games from the 2010-2011 football season and pay a $200 fine due to a transfer violation.
The school will also be on administrative probation for one year.
Officials with the LHSAA said the school reported the irregularity on Aug. 12.
The name of the student in question was not given.
He will be ineligible to participate in any games at his new school this season.
The LHSAA reported the student played in 10 games, six of which the Lions won.
The forfeited games are:
9/10 vs. Belaire
9/24 vs. Pointe Coupee Central
10/22 vs. Dunham
10/29 vs. Central
11/4 vs. University
11/12 vs. Ville Platte
The head football coach at the time was Chad Germany.
He is no longer with the program.
