The game was played at Houston's Minute Maid Park and started three hours earlier than originally scheduled for MLB's Urban Invitational tournament.
The Jaguars 8:00am victory will be followed by a Saturday appearance on MLB Network at 3:00pm against No.24 Cal-Irvine.
The Anteaters opened the Urban Invitational with a 5-3 win over Alabama State.
WAFB9 Sports reporter Sharief Ishaq and former Southern star Frazier Hall, a WAFB intern, will have complete coverage of Saturday's game on WAFB 9News at 6 and 10pm and at WAFB.com.
