DENHAM SPRINGS, LA (WAFB) -
A mobile home fire in Denham Springs has left a family homeless.
It happened around noon on Blossom Street, that's off of Lockhart.
Fire fighters arrived to find the home engulfed in flames. Two people were inside at the time, but they got out without any injuries. Now they're left to rebuild and their lives and their home.
"Rough estimate, probably somewhere in the neighborhood of $75-80 thousand," said Joe Koczrowski, with Livingston Fire Protection District 5. "It's a beautiful double wide. They had it custom built because one guy's handicapped in a wheelchair. So they had everything designed to accommodate a man in a wheelchair, and so they'll have to have another one special built."
Investigators believe the fire started in the kitchen-dining room area and that it was accidental.
